Career versus Ambition

Career versus Ambition
What do you aspire to become...that’s ambition. What do you build or train yourself in…that’s career. People intend to mix these two up. They might be related but they are not the same. This has to go with understanding. It is my ambition to become a renowned writer and I will live to see that dream come true, this is my aspiration and I look forward to it. In this case, what do I do? I encourage myself toward achieving that goal till I finally achieve it. But that’s not all. I intend to build a career in writing. This is where development comes in. it has to do with a collection of all that you have achieved in a very long period of time, more like your life time, your very active days and most times, till you become an expert in that field.
Young people get too overwhelmed with their aspirations and they become so desperate to achieve that they go the wrong way achieving their goals. Your ambition has to do with your strong desire and determination to achieve. You have to go the extra mile to achieve success in whatever thing you are doing.
Your career has to do with practice. It is more orderly and involves a step-by-step process. There is no form of rush. Any mistake can bring you down and any little achievement can take you high. Here mistakes are made but there is always something to learn from. Ambition can bring about self-respect but career brings about self-discovery. Anybody can be ambitious but only the trained build up a career.
Ambitious people don’t necessarily need to have all the education. Take for example a businessman who has got numerous businesses across the nation and earns a living from it. He becomes financially buoyant and gains success in his business-line but that has nothing to do with career. He might have just learnt a trade for a start and with time became very good at it. Career persons have to go through the education process and in every stage they achieve one degree or the other and they go professional in their field. Career comes with both financial success and professional achievements.
So choose where you belong today. Do you just want to remain ambitious or you would rather go professional in your field. Remember, being over-ambitious can lead to desperate motives. It’s not bad to be ambitious but remember to do things with moderation. As for building yourself a career in your professional field, you need to do what is required and take things one step at a time, you will get there. In all, always strive to develop yourself daily.
