Fashion Fit

We all carry a different meaning of fashion and we have our own opinions on how fashion should be but I must say this; fashion is the way it ministers to us and I believe it is what suits us. I for one, I believe there’s nothing new in fashion. It is just a reinvention of the old and maybe modifying what has been in vogue before. Normally, I will always emphasize moderation because there is beauty in the simple things of life….please I pray thee, don’t attack me. I know what you are about to say…lol! Let me pick my fashion items and see if I could help.

1.      My Make-up kit. This consists of my eye-shadow, face powder, mascara, blush, lipgloss, lipstick, and eye-pencil/lipliner, foundation, set of brushes and not forgetting my facial cleanser! It is always advisable to invest in good make-up and you should know one when you see one. Asides the designer make-up, there are good ones that are easy to come by also. Ok, let’s go about applying make-up. The foundation serves the function of smoothening the face and covering up spots and blemishes likewise the concealer, it helps to bake up the face and leaves it smooth. It is advisable to use that which is suitable for the skin and your skin colour. There is the oil-based foundation and the water-based foundation. Some foundations serve the function of the brown powder. You may need not apply powder to your face anymore after applying the foundation but please note that it is very necessary to apply the one that goes with your skin colour to avoid you looking lighter or too dark. It is also necessary to use good applicators, tissue is a no-no item when making-up.

The face powder is another item. Brown powder is preferred to white powder. Good quality brown powder when applied also gives you a smooth and silky look. It is also very important to apply the colour that suits your skin complexion.

The blush is another item in the kit. This helps in giving a lift in the face and should be applied on the cheeks. It may not necessarily be applied though; it only enhances a smile on your face and hides wrinkled parts of the face. It is better to apply little than too much so as not to end up looking like a clown. The duster brush is best used when applying blush to your cheeks.

The eye-shadow adds spice to the eyes. There are so many shades to pick from. When applying the eye-shadow, paste brushes and duster brushes should be used. You should also consider your skin complexion; I always prefer cool shades because I’m chocolate-skinned. Also occasion, time and place demands how loud or cool your make-up should be. For costume and runway, loud make-up is necessary especially when trying to make a statement. Also some events and ceremonies call for such. Your eye-shadow is the first thing that calls attention when you are in the midst of people. For example, your eye-shadow when in an office environment should be reserved; it makes you look unserious and unprofessional when you have too much make-up on.

Lipgloss & Lipstick. These items give a wonderful statement to the lips. The lipgloss helps the lips to shine and gives it life. Invest in good lipglosses that could last on the lips a day without any breakage and avoid those ones that leave whitish contours on the lips after a while, except you want to keep your mouth closed the whole day. You should also have a favorite shade of lipstick, make sure it suits your skin complexion and must blend with the rest of your make-up. Pick a shade that also blends with the location you are at the time.

Lipliners/Eye pencils. This make-up item can be used to line the lips and also helps darken the eye brows. Not necessarily used all the time though but shows the difference when used.

The hand & body cream. This is a must have for everyone

2.      Clothings. These consist of a variety of wears that serve as coverings for different weathers and occasions. The tops, t-shirts, corporate shirts, blouses, jeans, pants, shorts, dresses, corduroys, jackets, scarfs, bolero, dinner wears, etc. The jean pant is our everyday wear and it goes with almost everything and appropriate for most occasions and places. It is referred to as casual clothing because it reduces a lot of stress when it comes to choosing what to wear. It can be worn with corporate shirts, tee-shirts, blouses, tops and even short dresses.
