Making God Priority

Making God Priority
It’s hi-time we stopped doing things as we please. God is utmost in every area of our lives. He is the reason for our existence and without his involvement we are nothing. We hear this every time from numerous preachings but what exactly do you think we owe God, Our money, our achievements our relationships or our lives?
Few years back, Ada was constantly dependent on the ‘D.I.Y’ factor. Everything she believed worked if they are done her way. She rose up to the Managerial level of her prestigious company before the age of 30. All seemed to go well for Ada, she had the best cars, lived in a well furnished apartment in a choice area and she had almost everything under her feet.
Forgetting that not everything is permanent, she landed into very deep trouble after a terrible mistake on her part. It caused a very bad debt and all that she’s worked for over the years zapped in a twinkle of an eye. All of a sudden, Ada found it difficult to pay her bills, she even lost her job because she couldn’t meet up recovery of the bad debt under her name. Financial supports stopped totally (of course, humans!). Ada had almost given up! She finally made an appointment with the financial aid office.
She nervously paced up and down the office confused and wondering how to tender her case. Then the man across the desk asked her curiously, do you need money or do you have real problems? That question changed her life. Why? Because she had seen money as her biggest and most difficult-to-solve problem. Her bills and financial needs were constantly on her mind. It was as if that was the most important thing in her life.
Before Ada could say anything more, the financial counselor smiled and said, ‘Most people forget that there’s more to this life than focusing our priorities on material gains and money forgetting that it’s only God we owe our lives to and need to get our acts right’. Ada realized that in her quest to figure out how to make ends meet once again, she had stolen her peace with worries.
No one had ever spoken to her like that before, the counselor had only succeeded in putting her back on the right track. He gave her a precious gift ‘the Bible’. From that time onwards, Ada redirected her life towards God and she sought his face and never looked back to the things of the world. In no time, Ada bounced back to her feet and it became better than her former life. This time around, good things were added unto her and she had peace. I wouldn’t say there were no worries but God always gave her peace and even in the midst of confusions, she had unending peace because she had learnt the essence of seeking God first and building a close and permanent relationship with God.
